Facility & Service Rental Policies

  1. The renter is responsible for all rental areas booked as well as all equipment used from our facility. Please note for SMF Field and all outdoor venues this includes: stands, changerooms, washrooms and plaza area.
  2. A facility representative will supervise the facility but will not run the equipment during your session. You are able to book an Equipment Tech at a rate of $30 per max 1- hour session.
  3. The facility is available to rent for approved uses only (i.e.: baseball, softball, soccer, field lacrosse, football, rugby and ultimate Frisbee). No casual use is allowed.
  4. Facility users must not enter the field prior to their permitted time and should leave the field five minutes before their end time to allow transition between groups. Please note for SMF Field and all outdoor venues this includes: stands, changerooms, washrooms and plaza area. Should users be on the rented venue past thier booked time, extra charges will be assesed at regular rental rates.  
  5. Bylaw No. 8286 The Smoking Control Bylaw prohibits smoking or vaping in indoor and outdoor public places owned or operated by the City.  Smoking or vaping tobacco is allowed on sidewalks or parking lot bordering these areas.
  6. Animals are prohibited  from entry into our facilities with the exception of guide animals.
  7. Immediately alert staff of any instance of blood or vomit on the field.
  8. Insurance - GHSCMI maintains general liability, fire, and property insurance. However, Owner’s insurance policies do not cover or protect against loss of Client’s property or damage or injury to Client’s guests or their property. All venue renters must have thier own insurance of $5,000,000 third party liability insurance for times and events listed on the invoice. The renter reserves the right to request additional general liability insurance.
  9. Rules for all the artificial Turf surfaces include:
    • Staking of sharp objects (including flags, shade structures and tents) into the turf is prohibited.
    • Marking, painting or taping on any surface is strictly prohibited.
    • Substances that may stain the turf, such as ointments or sunscreen must be kept at player benches or outside the turfed area.
    • Footwear on artificial turf fields must be moulded rubber cleats, turf shoes or running shoes. Metal cleats and screw-in plastic cleats are forbidden.
    • The artificial turf sport field rules and regulations are in effect at all times and apply to everyone using the field. Permit holders will be liable for suspension of field privileges if the rules are not followed.
    • Only players, officials and coaches are permitted on the turf.

Facility and Service Cancellation/Refund Policies

  1. All facility bookings made online are paid in full in advance, refunds will not be given for cancellations made on the part of the renter. Rescheduling the booking can be done within 7 days of the booking.
  2. If the booking is made and Gordie Sports Complex Management Inc is forced to cancel a full refund or rescheduling will be arranged.
  3. The Renter will leave the Rental Venue in a clean and orderly condition. All equipment must be returned immediately following the booking in its original condition. After the completion of the booking, GHSCMC will assess the condition of the Rental Venue to determine whether the Rental Venue has been left in a clean and orderly condition and all equipment returned in it’s original form. If GHSCMC determines, in its sole discretion, that the Rental Venue was not left in a clean and orderly condition, or damage to the equipment occurred, the Renter will pay to GHSCMC, due immediately upon receipt of invoice, GHSCMC’s then current rates for cleaning, with a minimum cost of $50.00 and or the cost of equipment repair or replacement.

Membership Conditions (not curretly avaialble)

  • Gordie Howe Sports Centre Management Corp (also referred to as the GHSCMC) Memberships are not transferable under any circumstances.
  • To ensure a hassle-free entry, please show you Membership card when accessing the Facility. If a Membership card is lost or stolen, the Member will be charged a $5 replacement fee.
  • Members are encouraged to speak to their physician prior to engaging in physical activity. Any injuries sustained by the Member during Facility use are the sole responsibility of the Member.
  • Membership fees are subject to change; GHSCMC will notify Members via website and email of any changes.
  • GHSCMC does not provide a refund for non-usage.
  • Annual Memberships will not be refunded.
